Behavioral health services

The care we offer

We offer integrated behavioral health care: psychiatric medication management, psychotherapy, couples and family work, and specialty programs. Care is available in person and through secure telehealth, where clinically appropriate.

01

Couples & Family Care

Relational work asks something different of a clinician than individual therapy does, and the therapists who provide couples and family care at Magnolia Health have trained specifically for it. Whether you're navigating communication breakdown, a major life transition, or something harder to name, sessions are structured to give each person a fair hearing while moving the relationship itself toward something more workable.

Relationships are part of behavioral health. Our couples and family clinicians are trained in evidence-based systemic and relational modalities, and care is delivered with the same evidence base as our individual treatment.

  • Couples therapy (Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method-informed)
  • Family therapy for adults and adult-child family units
  • Parent guidance for adults navigating parenting under stress

Telehealth

Secure video appointments through Magnolia Health are designed to carry the same clinical weight as in-person sessions. The platform is straightforward to use from any private space in Alabama, and the therapeutic relationship translates across the screen in ways our clinicians have taken care to support. Telehealth is available for both therapy and psychiatric follow-up appointments, making consistent care more accessible regardless of where life has you.

Where clinically appropriate, both psychiatric care and psychotherapy are available through HIPAA-compliant telehealth. The same clinicians, the same care — delivered to wherever you can find a quiet, private space within your state of residence.

  • Telepsychiatry medication management
  • Teletherapy for psychotherapy and couples care
  • Secure, HIPAA-compliant platform
  • Equal-fee, in-network billing where your plan permits

Psychiatry & Medication Management

Psychiatric care at Magnolia Health begins with a thorough diagnostic evaluation that takes the full arc of your history into account, not just your current symptoms. Medication management appointments are substantive conversations, not quick check-ins, and your psychiatrist remains attentive to how any prescribed treatment is landing in your actual life. When psychiatry and therapy are happening concurrently here, those two sides of your care stay in communication.

Our psychiatric care is delivered by physicians who completed an MD or DO, a four-year residency in psychiatry, and who hold board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Visits are scheduled at the frequency your care requires.

  • Diagnostic psychiatric evaluation
  • Ongoing psychiatric medication management
  • Coordination with primary care & specialty providers
  • Care for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma, perinatal mental health, and major life transitions
  • Telehealth or in-person at your preference

Specialty Care

Beyond general outpatient care, Magnolia Health offers focused programs for adults navigating specific challenges that benefit from a more structured clinical lens. Perinatal mental health, trauma and PTSD, OCD, and mood disorders each carry their own clinical literature and their own treatment rhythms, and our specialty-trained clinicians bring that depth to the work.

Some conditions benefit from a clinician with focused training. Our specialty programs are organized around the diagnostic categories that present most often in adult outpatient behavioral health, staffed by clinicians with additional training in each area.

  • Anxiety disorders
  • Mood disorders
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • OCD
  • Perinatal mental health
  • Life transitions
  • Workplace burnout

Psychotherapy

Individual therapy at Magnolia Health is where most people begin, and for many it remains the center of their care. Our therapists draw from evidence-supported approaches, including cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and acceptance-based frameworks, selected and shaped around what you bring into the room.

Our therapists are independently licensed (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LPC, PsyD, or PhD) and matched to your care based on your goals and the modalities best suited to them. Sessions are typically scheduled weekly or biweekly to start.

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
  • Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills
  • Psychodynamic and supportive psychotherapy
  • Trauma-focused care
  • Perinatal and postpartum-specific therapy

Care begins with a conversation.

Most new patients are scheduled within 7–10 business days.
