About the practice

Magnolia Health

Where healing finds its footing

Our clinical team

Magnolia Health's clinical team brings together board-certified psychiatrists and fully licensed psychotherapists, including licensed clinical social workers and licensed professional counselors, who share a commitment to ongoing training and ethical, reflective practice. Credentials matter here not as a display of credentials but as a baseline guarantee that you are receiving care from someone who has done the work to be prepared to sit with you. Collaboration across the team means that psychiatric and therapy perspectives inform each other in ways that benefit every person we see.

Our story

Some things take time to grow into. Healing is one of them. At Magnolia Health, we make space for that process, pairing clinical rigor with the kind of steady, human attention that lets real change take root.

Magnolia Health was built around a simple conviction: that outpatient behavioral health works best when clinicians have the room to truly know the people in their care. The practice grew from a desire to offer Alabama adults something quieter than a volume-driven system, a place where therapy isn't rushed and where psychiatric care feels like a conversation, not a transaction.

What we hold ourselves to

  • Relationship before protocol. we believe the therapeutic alliance is not a soft variable but a clinical one, and we tend to it deliberately.
  • Honesty in every direction. we tell you what we observe, what we don't yet know, and when a different approach might serve you better.
  • Complexity welcomed. mental health rarely arrives in a single tidy diagnosis, and our clinicians are trained to hold nuance rather than flatten it.
  • Care that respects your pace. progress is not linear, and we won't treat a slow week as a failure or rush you toward a predetermined finish line.
  • Access without compromise. we work to keep outpatient psychiatric and therapy care reachable for Alabama adults across a range of financial situations.
  • Accountability to the science. our treatment selections are grounded in the current evidence base, revisited as that base evolves.

How we work

Continuity of relationship

Your care here isn't handed off or reshuffled by circumstance. The clinician you begin with stays with you, learning your history and your rhythms so that every appointment builds on the last rather than starting over.

Therapy as the foundation

We treat psychotherapy not as an add-on to medication management but as the primary vehicle for change. Medication, when appropriate, supports that work rather than replacing it.

Unhurried appointment time

We schedule deliberately. Sessions aren't cut short by overbooked calendars, and your clinician arrives present, not catching up. That hour belongs to you in a way that actually feels true.

Evidence-informed, person-centered

Treatment decisions at Magnolia Health draw from research-supported frameworks, and then they get adapted to you. The evidence tells us what tends to work; your life tells us what fits.

When you're ready, we are too.
